Did You?

Did you hear it?

On that crowded street

As we held on to each other

While I hoped that somehow, you wouldn’t have to leave

Did you feel it beat?

In those short, o so short moments

Present me reminisces on them

And thinks;

Ugh, you idiot,

You should have held her a bit longer,

Hugged her a moment longer,

Maybe, just maybe it would have lasted forever*

Did you hear it?

Did you feel it beat?

Precious memories capped off by precious moments

It misses you

I do too ❤

I’m sorry.

Ah, this tugged at my heart strings. The many coulda-woulda-shouldas of past romance.

@ “Present me” – For some reason, I like the grammar behind this. Lol

You totally allowed for your sweetest instincts to take full reins and run amok in this romantic composition TM! These lines are beyond endearing! 😇😄

Forever’s what we make it! The Narrator in the Hollywood romantic flick ‘5 to 7’ affirms that the value of memory and the idea that just cause something does not last forever, does not mean its worth’s diminished!

Reliving moments gone by and keeping certain memories frozen and alive in our hearts are beautiful ways of immortalizing those special events in our lives…. through time….for always! ❤😄

Plus, who knows; she may indeed have heard it and might be plagued with nostalgic feelings of a life unlived….just as the Narrator’s doing right now! You just never know! 😁

    Hmmm, only she knows 😁.
