Examine Your MotivesRead here

This post came up on my timeline and it brought to mind a tweet I read a while back. See image above.

Did One But KnowRead here

I read this beautiful article earlier this month and I just had to share. It’s wonderful. “Had I Known” seems like a better/familiar title.

Still on painRead previous musings post here

I finished reading A.D 30 by Ted Dekker last week and I’m currently reading A.D 33 by the same author (thank you Kerry). It has made me reconsider a question I once pondered on – which historical figure would I like to not only meet, but break bread with during their lifetime and maybe even observe them from a not too far distance. Who would you want to meet?

‘Empathy flows not from the causes of pain, but the company of pain’….deep, and so true! Misery they say loves company as in ‘da bi n da’! 😁You know, that ‘enemy of progress’ mentality we mortals sometimes find sooo hard to shake off; especially when we’re ourselves going through a very rough patch!😂😂😂

On a more serious note, a person would tend to show empathy towards another, if he’s walked in the shoes of the other person at some point in time; for the most part! We don’t just get to create or imagine experiences; we must undergo ’em to really understand from whence a person’s coming from! Alphonse de Lamartine surmises that ‘ Grief and sadness knits two hearts in closer bond than happiness ever can; and common sufferings are far stronger than common bonds’! 😊😄

I’d have really loved to meet the Legend Mandela; and Sage that’s Gandhi! These were rare mortals who preached peace and love throughout their sojourn on Earth! They were founts of wisdom and guys like ’em only ever get to walk the Earth once every blue moon…never almost! 😀

    Thanks for sharing TM! 👉😁

    *Far stronger than common joys

    Pardon the error TM! 😁

  3. Tony Michele · May 22, 2016

😃, this just occurred to me – does your suffering proposition apply to Nigerians too? Thought I’d ask 😆

Interesting choice. Mandela’s definitely one for the book. 🙏🏾

Thank you for reading and your encouraging comments! ✊🏾

Mine suffering propositions or Alphonse de Lamartine’s?!😩😯Just thought to ask too TM, incase you missed it! 😈😆

Come now TM, don’t be such a cynic! 🙉 I’d think that quote was thoroughly all-emcompassing…taking in all of humanity except you think Nigerians belong to another race-type or do you? Like we’re some sorta aliens from outer space?! 😐😏*tsking

I know lots of us are self-serving, especially ones involved in governance; but I’d still like to think there are a few good men out there! That the bad eggs outnumber and overshadow ’em don’t mean they do not exist you know? 😇I mean, you don’t have to look no further than your mirror to behold one of a few…You! 😂😂😂

  5. Tony Michele · June 5, 2016

😂. I was referring to both of them.

    😆, of course 🙃.

    😊😇, Merci 🙏🏾.
