My Simple Mind

“Of all the fearfully and wonderfully made maidens on the earth,

Thou art the fairest of them all”

Now that I’ve thought about it,

I should have said something like that.

Instead, my eyes stared

While my mind tried to come up with something witty, honest and slightly amusing

“It was my simple mind,

Trying to rationalize your beauty”

For prior to that moment

My eyes had never beheld anyone more beautiful.
